Thanks to our partnership with First Book we were able to be the charity of choice for the KPMG recruiting team’s service project. Some amazing young adults all labeled and bagged over 1000 books that were then given away to kids on our community.
This is the 4th of 4 book boxes we did with Burbank Rotary & Burbank Sunrise Rotary. This one is celebrating our amazing first responders in the area. It is another example of how literacy can bring people together because it also was a partnership with Kiwanis Literacy Club of Southern California.

We were able to participate in the unveiling of the 5th book box with San Bernardino County Probation Department team. This was the first one the students built completely on their own. This is the 1st of 4 book boxes in partnership with Burbank Sunrise & Burbank Noon Rotary Clubs. This one is at Mountain View Park, Burbank CA. The theme here was a horse barn since it is surrounded by equestrian centers and horse riding trails.
The first year partnering with Kiwanis Literacy Club of So Cal for their annual Literacy Gala. This one was focused on the Chronicles of Narnia and the story of the power of books by our Executive Director Jean Chadwick. JoAnn Motta is an incredible teacher in the Santa Ana area. She needed some books and put a call out on Facebook. We answered that call then her and her husband Drew came up and picked up books for her school. We love getting books to kids!
