We were humbled and so excited to receive some incredible thank you notes. These are from some of the teachers and others that came to our August 24, 2019 Geneva Ohio Book Distribution. If we ever forget “WHY” we do what we do, notes like this remind us that all children should experience the power of books.
In addition to the book giveaway in Ohio last week our master builder Douglas Chadwick and some awesome local family members Chris Chadwick Don Chadwick Terry McCafferty Chadwick Zoe Chadwick Noel Chadwick built this awesome book box for Kiwanis Club of Geneva Ohio. It has not been installed yet but it will be getting an awesome home in the area where kids from the community will have access to free books.
With a grant from First Book focused on Ohio the team rallyed together (thanks to the Ohio Chadwick/Stamper families) to do a one day book distribution in Geneva, Ohio. We gave away 6,000 books in less than 6 hours. We had volunteers from the community and some awesome Kiwanians showed up to help as well. An incredible day for seeding book deserts.
This was our 6th with our partners Youth Policy Institute. This represents their amazing Promise Scholars program that works with youth in the area to help them in school and college.
In addition to installing book boxes today, we did a book distribution with our friends at YPI and the books from KPMG. There were so many people helping including some Disney Voluntears! Hundreds of books went to the kids in this community.
